About

We are our own first customer.

Custom CRMs is a venture of Webstallion, an Australian web and software studio in Macquarie Park, Sydney. We build bespoke CRM and business software for businesses that no product fits, and then we hand it over.

How this started

Webstallion ran on a rented CRM. It was fine. It was also $120 a month for something that did about seventy per cent of what we needed, and the missing thirty per cent was the part that actually described how we work: the way a lead becomes a proposal, the way a proposal becomes a build, the way a build becomes a client who needs looking after for years afterwards.

So we built our own. It took less time than expected, it fits exactly, and when we need something new we build it that week rather than voting for it on somebody else’s roadmap. That subscription is now $0, and the software is ours.

Then the obvious thought arrived: almost every small business we work with is in the same position, paying monthly for software that nearly fits, and almost none of them know that building your own is affordable at their size. Most people think the choice is rent something generic or spend six figures. It is not.

What we believe, in one line

You should not be paying every month for someone else’s roadmap. Updates you never asked for arrive on their schedule while the change your business actually needs sits in a suggestion box collecting votes. Tell us what you need, we build that, and you own it.

The part most sites leave out

We have not sold a CRM to an outside client yet. Custom CRMs is new, and the only build running in production is the one we use every day to run Webstallion.

That is why this site shows you working software and our own numbers rather than a wall of logos we have not earned. The board on the homepage is real and you can drag things around in it. The cost figures are the vendors’ own published prices, cited and dated. The $120 a month is ours.

If you would rather wait until there is a case study with somebody else’s name on it, that is completely fair and we would probably do the same. If you would rather be that case study, the first conversation is free and we will tell you honestly whether building anything makes sense for a business your size.

Who you are dealing with

Webstallion is a small Australian studio. The person who runs the discovery call is the person who writes the code, which is why the scope conversations are blunt and why we turn down work that needs a regulated engine underneath it. There is no account manager to get past and nobody is incentivised to sell you a bigger project than you need.

Bring your worst spreadsheet.

A discovery call runs about thirty minutes. We map how you actually work, tell you honestly whether a bespoke build is worth it for a business your size, and add up what you would stop paying.
